Dear (Climate) Privileged People

By: Marcin Niedziałek, Sara Steege, Linh Vu Pham Ferrari

Dear (Climate) Privileged People is an activist campaign and open letter to the richest 10% of the population, addressing the issue of carbon inequality that requires immediate action. In 2020, OXFAM published a shocking study stating that the richest 10% of the population is responsible for 52% of global CO2 emissions, while the poorest 50% emits only 7% of global CO2 emissions.

The aim of the campaign is to target the climate privileged people, raise awareness of carbon inequality by exposing the uncomfortable truth and reduce the emission gap through education.

The campaign elements were divided into two layers: provocative – in the form of official bill, posters and public installations, and informative – website and social media. The project was part of the MA Graphic Communication Design programme at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
